Well it’s now been official for about a week or so. Anne-Renee, Jack and I are moving back to Australia. It’s been an interesting time in Canada, new friends, new experiences and challenges.

It’s with some regret and great anticipation that we look to moving back to Sydney where I accepted a Senior Producer role with a great company. I ask all of my friends who know the company that I am moving to not to post/comment about it as I don’t think it’s appropriate at this stage.

We are leaving with regret as we have made such good friends here and are leaving family. There is also a sense of failure on my part that we have not been able to achieve what we had set out to do with the family business we joined. There have been some great highs here, but also a radically different environment and industry to what we had worked in previously. I’d like to extend my sincerest thanks to Ben and Linda for the offer they extended to us and a very heartfelt thanks to all the great people we worked with at Atlantic. I wish you all the best folks, you are truly a bunch of devoted and talented colleagues and anyone who works with you in the future will be lucky to share office space with you.

It will be a difficult move back to Oz, I am leaving Canada in the next couple of weeks and Anne and Jack will follow about 4 months later once I have established myself in the new office and found a place for us to live.

The thought of being away from my family for such a long time kills me. I will miss my sons first birthday and probably his first steps… it’s doubtful that he will remember me at all when I see him next. I will miss being with the best friend that I have ever had and the most wonderful woman in the world. I love you both.

It’s all for the best in the longterm, but it’s still tough.
