I caught a briliant interview by Jon Stewart, of The Daily Show, with Tori Clarke the former Assistant Secretary of Defense for Public Affairs.

Tori had worked under Donald Rumsfeld and is now on the tour promoting her book Lipstick on a Pig: Winning in the no-spin era. How somebody working in the current administration can claim that we are in the “no spin era” is beyond me… no actually that would be spin in itself. Ironic no?

Jon seemed as perplexed as I by the books title and proceeded to question Tori. They bounced around the definition of spin, discussed examples of it and then led into one of the best bits of TV that I have seen for a long time.

“Do you feel that spin is pervasive?”

“Yes, absolutely”

“Oh I’m sorry, I misunderstood you. I thought you were saying that we live in a no-spin era”
