Wordpress Permalink Problem
All Posts, Blogging, Geeky Stuff, Internet|UPDATE:
OK so it seems that the most recent post is the only one that is being returned by the server when a link on the site is clicked.
The other posts are still in the DB as I can view and edit them from the admin dashboard. I have backed these up incase things go hay wire… more.
I have also changed my .htaccess file as per technosailer’s recommendation and have tried republishing the posts. All to no avail.
Please keep the help coming.
I quietly started another blog recently and have been building content slowly before I give it a push.
The problem is that something seems to have happened to the permalinks. No matter which post [link] I click on… the content from the most recent post appears in the browser. The URL changes, but the data stays the same.
For Example:
- Clicking on http://www.marketingroots.net/?p=10 takes me to a post about the
BCG Growth-Share Matrix - Clicking on http://www.marketingroots.net/?p=5 is supposed to take me to a post on
Relationship Marketing but instead I still get the data from the
BCG Growth-Share Matrix

Did you generate permalink rewrite rules or no?

Hi Aaron,
Yes I did at first. I tried to include the post name in the URL. It didn’t work so I tried other options including:
/index.php/%post_id% and
/%post_id%
I defaulted back to the empty field as it was before I mucked it up. The URLs are the same as before I started getting jiggy, but the content is not.
Thanks

Try using the default template. Does it make any difference.

No Joy there either. I think when I get home I’ll copy down the wp-content folder, remove the db and reinstall everything.
