I used to work at BOC years ago and still have friends in the UK (Head Office) and Sydney Australia.

Job cuts in the I.T. department have been on the cards for a few years now with a gradual outsourcing of work to India, however the announcements over the past few days caught many people by suprise. All but 9 roles will soon be made redundant and as I understand employees are being invited to re-apply for those roles. The real shock comes from the staff at the Guilford office in the UK where over 70 jobs have been cut.

The jobs being cut are predominantly SAP and Basis staff so if your company is looking for seasoned SAP/Basis staff, the availability over the next few months should be quite good.
